Lady Anthelia of Kergüs, the Blood Countess, sits upon her marbled throne. As last rites are read to a dying world, she still clings to her youth, her power, and the traditions that maintain what’s left of order.

Those she will not kill she imprisons aboard the hulk named Her Lady’s Schackel – a vessel set adrift upon the Endless Sea and manned by sailors without hope. If all goes well, they will still be drifting there when the world dies.

But all does not go well.
